Seat Altea - 1.9 TDI (77 kW/105 hp)
Date of manufacture: june 2004 - may 2010. Towball limit: 75 kg (Advise: 75 kg)
According to our data (in the Netherlands) this Hobby is 35 kg too heavy for the Seat. Please check the maximum towing limit in your own country.
Important for safe towing is the weight ratio between Car and Caravan. The weight ratio (loaded caravan / loaded tow car) for the Seat and Hobby is
87%. The caravan is rather heavy for this car. The stability and safety index is low for this outfit.
[TABLE="width: 540"]
[TR]
[TD="width: 197"]The towing performances of this Seat with your Hobby are good (performance index = 94).
You may expect more than adequate performances from this outfit. On flat roads you can come along provided you've selected the right gear, top gear is applicable under normal circumstances.
On motorway inclines you will be able to come along quite nicely. On steep roads you have sufficient power to keep going. On hill starts there's most probably sufficient power to get going, provided the wheels have traction.

Whereas it looks a 'dainty' car, it performs remarkably well. Have towed many miles - North Scotland, Devon and many other distances, strong winds etc.... no problems whatsoever. Would highly recomend!
Only faults with Altea are- rather hard ride, large pillars make for blind spot, poor reversing light.
